The Collection

‘Soft Landing’ is a collection of domestic objects made from rubber granules—materials typically associated with playgrounds, athletic tracks, and impact absorption. Exploring protection as a design principle, each piece balances fragility and resilience by reframing an industrial material as domestic infrastructure, designed to absorb impact and offer a soft landing for life's clumsier moments.

The Designers

Designed by Hilaria and Nikita von Saldern, whose practice, AUFGABE NULL, explores how unexpected objects can shape the character of a space and the way it is experienced and remembered. Working across materials and scales, their approach combines experimentation, sculptural thinking, and an interest in the surprising qualities of the familiar. Soft Landing brings this approach together with MANU’s material-led framework, resulting in a collection that examines protection, fragility, and resilience through a shared focus on making.
